God Speed Ward! I'd be interested in hearing about your observations of Army combat units in AF. I have heard from colleagues that there is a huge difference in the order and discipline among Army personnel vis-a-vis Marine units. Apparently the behavior of Army units in AF is reminiscent of the late 60’s in Viet Nam – a la the movie Hamburger Hill. After recently viewing the 82 Airborne Division rendition of Lady Gaga on You Tube I was dismayed to see a lack of cleanliness, orderliness in the work and berthing areas, along with the improper stowage of weapons and personnel in serious need of a weight control program for the whole world to see. Just yesterday I heard that there is a general atmosphere of malaise in many of the units and that leadership has significantly diminished. After three or four plus combat tours the troops have a FIGMO attitude where SNAFU is commonplace. I hope my highly decorated, combat experienced colleagues have had only limited encounters with what amounts to your typical “ten per centers.” I’m anxiously awaiting your interpretation of the situation over there. Stay safe!

Wow, Ward, that got the heart pumping! My husband and I are really, really looking forward to buying this new book. Any idea what month it'll be available?

I think you're having just too much fun with your band.

Happy New Year to you and your family.

Oh, yeah . . . old school progger: Genesis, Yes, Gentle Giant, early Floyd, Renaissance. But I love Wilson and Porcupine Tree. Better with each listen, just like good prog should be.
