This video was forwarded by Moondog, MfC’s bass player, showing a young “James” Page chord-banging on an acoustic with his skiffle bandmates on BBC’s Huw Wheldon Show in 1957.
It’s heartwarming to think that just over a decade later this clean-cut lad would be practicing the dark arts of Aleister Crowley, violating groupies, tearing up hotel rooms, and selling millions of albums with songs like “Dazed and Confused” and “Whole Lotta Love.”
So young geeks everywhere, relax. There’s hope for you yet.
